I am a Non-Resident Fellow of International Relations at the Indo-Pacific Studies Center and have previously served as Director of the Academic Program in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Tecnológico de Monterrey. I hold a joint PhD in Political Science and China Studies from King’s College London and the National University of Singapore.
My academic work has been shaped by international appointments and scholarly exchanges at institutions including the University of Oxford, Peking University, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Miami, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. My research centers on Confucianism and Chinese political thought, with a focus on ethical governance, global affairs, and the practice of statecraft, security, and economic diplomacy.
My work has been supported by competitive grants from organizations such as the International Confucian Association, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, and the Gorchakov Fund. I serve as Regional Book Review Editor of the Journal of Chinese Philosophy and as a member of several academic editorial boards and professional associations in political science and international relations.
